Sencha-style green leaves, tart hibiscus petals (considered to be a sign of peace throughout many parts of the world and also possibly to aid in lowering high-blood pressure) and peach-like osmanthus petals make this tea a flavorful treat. A blend created as a hope for peace and in honor of US Marine PFC Guy Louis Gabaldon who was known as the "Pied Piper of Saipan" (opposite of the Brothers Grimm's version). During the 1944 "Battle of Saipan", PFC Gabaldon devised a method of convincing the Japanese soldiers to turn themselves. He stood outside the entrance of their hideouts and assured them in Japanese that with a peaceful surrender, they would not be killed and would be well-treated. With over 1500 troops peacefully surrendering, PFC Gabaldon was awarded the Silver Star Medal which was later upgraded to the Navy Cross Medal.
