Japan - Green Tea Sencha-style - Fresh green tea flavor with hints of pear. Bancha is made using a second flush leaf which, compared to the Sencha leaf, is wider and more coarse, producing a robust cup of tea. Because of the coarseness of the leaf, it is suggested to use boiling water (unlike other green teas) direstly on the loose leaf, steep for 20-30 seconds, then strain. Of course, you need to decide what your steeping preferences will be when preparing Bancha.
