From Mount Wuyi, listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO because of its biodiversity and its status as a subtropical forest, this rare tea carries its own special status. Similar tea bushes, like most of the other plant life and 5000 reptile, amphibian and insect species can be found no place else on this planet. To preserve this pristine and "natural" environment, pluckers wear light cotton gloves and generally harvest the tea leaves in small batches. The flavor is gentle, but rich with a floral nuance. The leaves can be infused 3-5 times and as with all oolongs, it is suggested to infuse these leaves for approximately 1 minute.
